Casa Mars is a study in making a very small home feel generous without disguising the intimacy of its footprint. Perched above a Malibu canyon and surrounded by mature trees, we leaned into its compact scale and imagined the house as a treehouse—a collection of intimate spaces suspended within the canopy. Built-ins and furniture were designed as part of the architecture, allowing us to use nearly every inch while keeping the rooms quiet and uncluttered. Windows were treated less as openings and more as framed views, constantly pulling your attention out of the house and into the canyon beyond.
